Race Information

All are welcome! The 5K is a fun event for your family, staff, team, and class. The 5K promotes a healthy lifestyle, sparks competition, and builds camaraderie. We welcome individual participants, professional and novice runners.

We invite Santa Teresita Manor and Bethany residents to form a team and enter our 5K. What a blessed day it will be to walk and assist your loved one with his/her wheelchair. It will be a day of family fun and celebration.

Mail an extra $25 donation with your registration and you can sponsor a Carmelite Sister or Hayden staff member to walk in the race. (In the case of surplus, donations will be added to the money raised.)

WHEN:
The Hayden 5K Run will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Fun Run at 10:30 am. Family Fun Day following run.

WHERE:
The Race will begin on the corner of Royal Oaks Drive and Buena Vista Street in the city of Duarte (just north of the Santa Teresita Buena Vista Street entrance) and will funnel onto the Duarte Recreational Trail.

COURSE:
Popular with runners and power walkers, this paved, flat trail is flanked by the wild flower-covered hills of the San Gabriel Mountains to the north and Royal Oaks Drive to the south. This 1.6 mile Duarte Recreational Trail runs mainly through a residential area with horses, trees and lots of shade. The race surface is asphalt, concrete and dirt. To complete our 5K, participants will loop the trail.
